Can I Choose a Tulsa Adoption for My Baby While Incarcerated In Oklahoma?

Adoption in Oklahoma is a wonderful and rewarding experience. Choosing adoption for your baby is an option for you if you are looking into adoption in Oklahoma because you face jail time or are currently serving your time. If you are looking for an adoption agency in OK, then Adoption Choices of Oklahoma is here to help you with all your adoption needs.

Will I Go Through the Same Adoption Process as Other Birth Mothers?

Now, you might think that your adoption process will be different from that of other birth mothers because of your situation. This is not true; you will be able to go through the same process that all the birth mothers we have worked with go through. In addition, you will be able to create an adoption plan for your baby that you think is best for them and one that ensures their future. We know that this is a hard decision for you, and it can feel like you are giving up, but that is not the case. It is important to remember that you are not giving up; you are doing what you think is right for your baby, and you are finding them a situation where they can get the love and attention they deserve.

What Will the Adoption Process in Oklahoma Be Like?

As mentioned before, you will go through the same Oklahoma adoption process as other birth mothers that we have worked with here at Adoption Choices of Oklahoma. You will work with your adoption caseworker to create your adoption plan. Your caseworker is not there to create your adoption plan for you; they are there to provide you with the information you will need and to answer any questions you may have during the adoption process.

You will decide what type of adoption you want to have on your adoption journey. You can have a closed, semi-open, or open adoption. Creating your adoption plan means you will be able to pick the adoptive family as well. This is a very important step of the adoption process, and you will be able to find an adoptive family that you think is best for your baby. Your adoption facilitator will provide you with profiles and information on the adoptive families we have on our waiting list. You will be able to take a look and find the best fit for your baby. You can always ask your adoption counselor to look at other adoptive families if you do not find one that you think is a good fit for your baby.

Another aspect of choosing what type of adoption you want is the amount of communication with the adoptive family and your child. You, your caseworker, and the adoptive family will sit down and talk about what type of adoption you picked and the level of contact you will have.
