I’m Pregnant – What Do I Do?

Life is full of surprises. Sometimes, a surprise is just the thing you need in your life. Other times, it can be an unexpected detour from your carefully laid life plans. Unplanned pregnancy is, more often than not, the latter. If this is the case, you are now faced with one of the biggest questions that many pregnant women struggle with: What do I do?

You may not have any answers or even know where to begin. That’s completely natural! We are here to help! Both through our website, and to answer all of your questions and address your concerns.

You Have Options

First and foremost, it is important to know that you DO have options.

  1. Parent the Child
  2. Terminate the Pregnancy
  3. Create an Adoption Plan

Choosing an option may seem like a daunting task but we’re here to help guide you through it. Let’s further explore each option to better understand the choices available to you.

Parent the Child

Despite the unexpected nature of your pregnancy, perhaps you are at a stage in your life where you are able to accept the responsibility of raising a child. Parenting can be a fulfilling experience that is unlike anything else in the world. It is also important to understand that children need a safe, stable, and nurturing environment to thrive. If you feel you can sufficiently provide for a child and you find yourself thinking optimistically about the idea of being a parent, then parenting is a good option for you to consider.

Terminate the Pregnancy

Abortion is legal in the state of Oklahoma and is a health service offered to birth mothers facing an unplanned pregnancy. Before you are able to terminate the pregnancy, you must first receive state-directed counseling. Then, there is a mandatory 72-hour waiting period which begins from the moment your appointment is scheduled.

You will also be required to undergo an ultrasound before the procedure can be performed. If parenting or adoption do not feel like good choices for you, terminating the pregnancy is an available option. We encourage you to do your own research to learn more about your abortion options and to utilize that information to make an informed, confident decision.

Create an Adoption Plan

Every woman, pregnancy and situation is different, and deciding on what to do with your child is a personal decision. If adoption is something you are considering, but you don’t feel like you have all the facts, we can help! Adoption can be a positive experience for everyone involved and may be the perfect choice for you.
