Adoption in Oklahoma, Do some of Your own Research

If you decide you want to pursue adoption in Oklahoma before beginning your adoption journey with an adoption agency near me, you will want to do your own research first. This research can help you determine if adoption is the right choice for you. This will also help you decide on what adoption agency near you that you will want to work with. During your research, you might come across Adoption Choices of Oklahoma.

What Adoption Choices of Oklahoma have to Offer

Adoption Choices of Oklahoma is a fully functional private adoption agency. It is our mission to provide you and other birth mothers in Oklahoma with a wonderful adoption experience. When you work with us, we make sure that you know that you are the one in charge of your adoption plan. We are not going to take over or make any decisions on your Oklahoma adoption plan for you. We are here to guide you and aid you while you create your adoption plan.

When you first get your adoption journey started, you will be assigned an adoption specialist who will be with you every step of the way. Your caseworker is there to provide you with the information you need to create your adoption plan and to answer any questions that you may have along the way.

Remember, this is your adoption plan and journey, so you get to make all the decisions. First, you will be able to decide on what adoptive family your baby goes to. Then, your adoption specialist will provide you with profiles and information on adoptive families on our waiting list. After looking through these families, if you do not find one that you think is the right fit, you can ask your caseworker to see more profiles of adoptive families.

Now there are different types of adoption as well. There are closed adoptions, semi-open adoptions, and open adoptions. You will be able to choose which type of adoption you want to have. When you decide on what type of adoption you want, it is not set in stone. If for some reason, down the line, you have a change of heart and you want to change what type of adoption you have, you can! For instance, say you originally decide on having a closed adoption, but then you decide to have a semi-open adoption. You can go from having a closed adoption to a semi-open adoption. One other aspect of your adoption plan that you get to decide on is the type of communication you want to have with the adoptive family and your baby after placement. Now the communication aspect is related to what kind of adoption you have, so the amount of communication you have with the adoptive family and your baby depends on what type of adoption you have.

How Adoption Choices of Oklahoma Helps and Supports You

Now going through the adoption process while pregnant is never easy, which is why here at Adoption Choices of Oklahoma, we do our best to help and support you any way that we can. If you are in a tight financial situation, we can help you with certain bills like your grocery expenses. We can also help you find an affordable and caring doctor for your appointments. We can also help you find a better living situation if your current living situation is not ideal. Now what we mean by ideal is that if you are not able to go home and be able to relax and destress from your day. It is important that you can go home to an environment where you feel comfortable and can relax and destress your mind. If your current living situation is not a place where you can do these things, then we can help you find a living space where you can do these things, also one that is more affordable.

Another service that we provide is a free counseling service. We provide this service so that you and the other birth mothers we work with have a place where you can have a one-on-one with a counselor and work through the feelings you can be dealing with. This is also a place to get any questions you have answered. Mental health is very important, and we want to do our best to help you be in a good headspace. You can make an appointment at any time when you feel like you need to or if you just want to talk.
